Aziza*, aged 12, and her family were displaced inside Syria for 2 years because of the conflict. Eventually they crossed the border into Lebanon, and now she's back at school, with the help of War Child, UNICEF and UK aid.

"I feel so happy that I'm now learning again", says Aziza.

She's learning English, French and Arabic, and is also receiving psycho-social support in the form of drawing and dance lessons to help her forget the conflict - at a centre in northern Lebanon that was set up with support from the UK.

As part of the ‘Lost Generation’ initiative, the British government is currently match-funding War Child's Children of Syria appeal and UNICEF's Syria Winter Appeal, to help thousands of Syrians through the winter.

If you're a UK citizen and you donate to either of these appeals, your donation will be matched by the UK government pound for pound, to help thousands of children like Aziza.

The UK will also provide winter tents, warm clothing and heaters as part of an allocation of nearly £60 million to help hundreds of thousands of Syrians, especially children, cope with the onset of winter.
